Pageturners Series #8 is our first venture into e-books, and if you have an e-reader that shows colour, you'll enjoy Moira's pictures. We've now had them printed in paperback as well, but the paperbacks are still in black and white. It's too expensive at the moment to have them printed in colour.
The Weekend is a simple little story about a man and his two kids going away for the weekend. They stay in a camping ground, they walk along the beach and explore rock pools, they fish — or eat fish and chips. They make a fire, watch the stars and just talk. Simple pleasures.
As well as an easy read for beginners, it's designed as a springboard for discussion, about family togetherness, and weekend activities, and about having a holiday even when you can't afford much. And how a weekend away, just enjoying nature and each other's company can be so refreshing and renewing.
